Need help finding block spec
What's crank bore spec for 350 010 block? I know it's around 2.640 but cant find any exact numbers. Trying to check if my block has been line bored. THX

The main bearing bores in the block carry a spec of 2.6406 to 2.6415. When the mains are align bored, the caps are surfaced and the bores are brought back "up to specs" in the refinishing process. Of course the need for boring is more often a matter of alignment rather than one of size. The better way to detect a line bore job, is to measure center to center of the main and cam bearing bores.

Thanks CFI. I saw those numbers from the bearing specs but didnt know if those were actual block specs too. I thought line boring caused the need for special oversize bearings.

Just like a con rod, except on the block, the centerline of the bearing bore moves upward in the block. That is why you see .005" timing sets. I think if you look closly, the dimensions in the bearing book are for the bearing housing BORE and not the OD of the bearing.
