Granted that this is a test based on manifolds for a ZZ454 Chevy, but this magazine (Hot Rod) swears by the Performer RPM Air Gap. Read the story here. http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/1...ld/index2.html
Perhaps you can do a web search and see if this info tracks over to the SB Chevy as well. By the way, to keep the stock hood you have few options for a decent manifold... I wonder if I should drop on a copy of the L-88 hood and use the L-88 air cleaner system so I can run that Air Gap myself...
