The quick and simple way is to use the drag racing or NASCAR method one cylinder at a time and is always correct. As the exhaust starts to open adjust the intake and as the intake starts to close, adjust the exhaust.
My buddy suggested the following method, which is different from the Shop manual. What do you guys think?
TDC #1
Intake 1,2,5,7
Exhaust 1,3,4,8
TDC #6
Intake 3,4,6,8
Exhaust 2,5,6,7
Good to go?
This only works for mild factory cams.
I prefer the "Lars" method. Rotate to TDC on #1. Adjust number 1 intake and exhaust. Rotate 90 degrees to TDC on (dang, I forget without the car in front of me, not enough beer) want to say #8, repeat adjustment.
Repeat in firing order. That is the key.
The drag race method works good as well but is really not required for street cams unless you are up to ~260@.050 lift or so.
