Thanks for the heads up. I could only find rotating assemblies for the 460 with cast cranks. The only manufacture I have found that lists a forged 460 crank is Scat. They have a custom lightweight billet as the only option. I'm sure any reputable crank company could make a custom billet, correct?
Price is a consideration (as always), and from what I have found it may make more sense to build a blown big block chevy, but I'm sure that would be a hard pill to swallow.
How about this: with an 8-71 blower power would be no problem even with less cubes. So why not use a forged 429 crankshaft - those I know were made. An 8-71 on top of 429 cubes will still make more power than he can easily put to the ground. Should be way affordable over a custom 460 steel crank.

No, not everybody makes billet cranks, and you do not need one anyway. Scat cranks are good cranks, just measure everything and you will be fine. If you must have a billet get ahold of Sonny Bryant, they will make any stroke you want, just be preparred to spend 2500 bucks.
Lots of guys make over 1500 hp on a good steel crank with no problems.
