pre-lubing, how long?

Lawd, I got BANNED from thirdgen for trying to suggest this was even a good idea.
DON'T go over there and ask THIS question.
Seems some guy named "RB" over there advocates NEVER pre-oiling or pre-lubing or whatever you call it.
He sez he just puts oil in and cranks'em up.
Anyway,
It will take awhile to get oil through the oil galleys and the pushrods to the top of the engine.
No matter what some bonehead may tell you, this is not a good idea....
