Default how quick are SS camaros?

Just curious how quick a 00-01 SS is from the factory. I was quite surprised by one the other day. I could tell he had at least full exhaust, but I never caught up with him to ask if that was all he had. My C5 is stock except for a Borla Catback, and he made me look like I was standing still when he punched it.

straight from the factory the a4s run between 13.50-13.70s @ 101-103 and the m6's usually run 13.30s-13.50s @ 104-106. Full exhaust will definately wake it up though, still wouldn't walk a c5. Get headers for your C5 and you'll see a big difference, LG pros is still one of my fav mods

Default If he

walked you I would bet he has heads, cam, NOS. Get the same and the tables will turn. Of course he will then get Turbo'd or a SC

Note my sig!

I use to own a '02 SS. They are nice and fast but stock for stock the Vette would win. After I got my Vette, one of my friends had a '01 Z28 and he had to get headers, catback, y-pipe, torque converter, and a cam before he could beat me. Only thing done to mine at the time was catback and airfilter. A lot of the F-bodies out there today are usually moddified with at least heads and cam. So dont underestimate them.

LMAO! I don't know why, but reading that immediatley made me laugh!

Yea, I assumed he had other mods done before we even "played," but it was fun either way. Hopefully I can run into him again one of these days and see just what he had.

a stock LS1 fbody with a strong engine and its live rear axle can be more than a match for a stock LS1 ybody with an average engine and IRS, all other things being equal. I've seen stock LS1's differ by almost 50 rwhp, more than enough to make up for the mass differential, and fbodies in general putting more power to the rear wheels with that live rear axle.
