The 1993-2002 Camaro is what killed the car in the first place.
GM shoved the motor under the windshield. Sitting in the seat
was like looking out of a mail box. The 1967-69s were the best,
The 1970-1981 were good. The 1982-1992 were ok, but the
1993-2002 were horrible. The Corvette is still better. After driving
a Corvette why would you want to take a step backwards with a
Camaro. Five years from now the Camaro will be like a PT Cruiser,
but a Vette is a Vette!!!!!!!!

I think just the opposite. I wasn't sold on them from the magazine pics, but after seeing a few in person I'm blown away. I really think they look bad azz in person

I would love to have a V6 for a daily driver and keep the Vette as the toy. However Ive been forced to put a lot of my racing stuff up for sale just to get by, so I dont see that happening anytime soon. I really like the look of the new Camaro and the interior is awesome IMO!

I am not interested in this new Camaro until the T-Top version comes out. Screw hard-top cars...im spoiled with the Targa Top on my C4...im not so much interested in a full on convertible but a T-Top Camaro is essential in my book. One goes with the other.

I agree...this new Camero is a rocket for the money!
Hey, I was just in Gainesville Florida and saw a RAG TOP BLUE Challenger with a camera crew and a police escort....I stopped and asked and was told it is a car for this year's SEEMA(?) show. When I saw the post above, I had to share this because I gotta tell ya, I died and drooled this car was soooo hot like a cross between a cuda and a challenger. It had a working shaker hood too. Is this show local to Florida? They were very edgy when I took out my camera so I did not take any photos....I did not know they made a convertible challenger.

I saw one for the first time a few weeks ago, it was an SS in victory red. A friend of mine sent me a text saying what road it went down in town (he's not a car enthusiast, I was half expecting to see a '02 camaro or a challenger) but I tracked it down and it paid off.

I disagree with the mustang/challenger comments. I love the Camaro's interior. And, it's no vette, but it's not HUGE like the challenger either. It's much lower profile than I expected.

go figure. two comments from vette owners sticking their noses in the air toward f-body owners. We have the same love for our cars as much as you do yours. Maybe we like the styling of ours better than a vette. Or maybe we need the back seat so our kids can also enjoy the car for a family outing to say, a car show. maybe we like to pay $20K less to look good and go JUST AS FAST.

Any car can rust. even a vette, its all a matter how well the car is taken care of.

whether its a camaro, firebird, mustang, challenger, charger or corvette...etc. we are all car enthusiasts just because we each like a particular brand. Just because you like a corvette doesnt mean you should be pissing on the guy who cant afford a "Corvette" or simply just doesnt want one. especially if the car came from the same company.

This is just a ridiculous overreaction. Corvette owners prefer there corvettes over camaros, go figure?

I personally love the 98-02 WS6, but c'mon man, just chill out.

Maybe if you like cows.

If I had a challenger, I'd paint it white with black blotches.

its hardly an overreaction. i mean no offense by what i say but 70% of the corvette people i have met and or meet at car shows, the track etc. most of them have their noses stuck up in the air towards "the poor mans corvette"

example: i waved to a guy with a c6 z06 the other night on my way to work. stopped at a light with him, his window was down and i yelled over that he had a nice car.

the guy "huffed" at me. and by guy i mean a 40+ yr old man. which then he decided he wanted to try to give me a show on the street and make an attempt to launch his car next to me.

the next light we had a run and needless to say im sure he was surprised how far my taillights were ahead of him.

this all started with me just wanted to tell him his red Z06 was nice. and he wanted to turn it into an ego trip. i had no intention to run him until he launched the car the first time.

example#2 there was a local corvette gathering.... i wanted to swing by with my kid and my "poor mans corvette" and look at some nice cars...and was told because i dont own a corvette i cant come out. i find that to be stuck up BS.

the challengers are just way to big. and from what I hear there handling is comparable to a Lincoln Town Car.

I agree with you Raven. Ive run into many people like that. Luckily here in south florida Im in a group that all gm cars are welcomed and enjoyed. I almost bought a 2002 Camaro SS before getting the vette. I love camaros simply for there similiarity in the drivetrain to the corvette, the back seats which is a plus when you have a family (which i dont) and the ride comfort. A corvette will always be a CORVETTE. The Camaro doenst quite have that impact but its like the little brother with the same potential. When i see camaros or anything that has a cult behind it i just go ahead and and take compliments and dish them out when they deserve it.

That has nothing to do with corvettes, you just ran into a not-so-nice guy. Or maybe he didn't even mean anything by it.

I can tell you that almost everyone here give corvette owners an immaculate and great reputation.
