Oh yes... I graduated in 1985 and the blue IROC was what I really wanted more than anything. I couldnt afford one then, but later bought a really nice 86 Z28. I pulled the carbed small block and installed a roller 305 engine from a 25th anniversary car. I retrofitted everything for the fuel injection also. ( fuel tank & lines etc) I sold the car in 1996 and the next car I bought was a 79Z28. Did a ground up resto on that one too and sold it then got into Vettes. Very nice car you have. Sometime Id like to buy another 3rd gen. Id definately look for a 350 car and install a 5 speed which I know GM never did.

Good stuff... Mine is the L98 (350) 700R4 with a 2800 stall... Rest of the car is completely stock other than air foil, dual K&N's... Getting ready to install the Koni's, Eibach Pro Kit, LGM adj PHR. Just had new Michelin Pilot sports installed.. The car is immaculate inside, out, engine bay, undercarriage.. 78K original miles.
For the record, i do not have a mullett.. nor do i live in a trailer and beat my wife, do Meth...
I too owned a 2nd Gen Fbod.. 1978 Z28 was my first car in HS ( graduated in 83)... Thanks for the kind words..

I also have an '88 IROC-Z along with my Z16. It's got 24k miles and has never seen rain, L98, bright red with t-tops, transgo manual valve body modified 700R4, 9 bolt rear (instead of 10), 4 wheel disk, aluminum drive shaft. Only mods to the car are the trango kit and a procharger supercharger. There's definitely not many good ones left.

Melting Slicks
Sold our built '91 Z28 about 6 or 7 years ago. Put thousands into that lame **** L98 and best I could get was 12.8sec at 111mph, naturally aspirated. I would have been better off swapping in an LS motor then modding the L98. That Z28 was immaculate inside and out though and sure turned heads.
