Default Mild To Wild Controller

I recently bought a used 2010 Grand Sport with the NPP Dual Exhaust Option. Am I correct in assuming the remote controller box and fob was never available via GM? Am I also correct in assuming one was never able to order this box and fob through GM at the time of car purchase? I am considering purchasing an aftermarket box and fob. Any advice on which one is better. They are all over the internet with a variety of prices. Thanks.
