2002 Firebird??
Hey Guys
I am an old tech kindof guy and don't know a lot about these newer engins. Surprises me actually how little I know for whatever reason.
So, this is a 2002 Firebird with the V6. Got hot yesterday, GF's car. Towed it home, radiator was very low so I filled it up with water to see what the deal was. It fired up ok which was a relief. Ran fine. We went out for dinner so I got on it again this am. Took a drive temp was ok for a while, then ran up but didn't get hot then it came down to normal and I thought, Great, maybe just a little air still in there. Then is started climbing again headed for red so I shut it down and popped the hood, got some steam coming out and hissing indicating a pretty good leak. Its coming from the front pass side but I can't tell exactly where. I think that is the water pump (thats when I figured out how little I know about this motor)
So, pics below, is that the water pump? If not, What?
The leak is back behind under that bolt

this link shows the water pump so you should be able to tell if the bearing/hub is leaking
