My starter packed it in ,and I am wondering if these #'s are correct to my car (1971 LS5)
G18 B5 cast into housing.
6954 11 5 and two letters of script stamped into housing.Is this correct and worth rebuilding for my car or do I go ahead and buy an off the shelf rebuild?

1 = 1971, A 23 = Jan 23rd....the meaning of the last number (4) is unknown.
