This is the very reason that I don't recommend newbies jump off into a frame off restorations anymore!
This car has now changed hands twice in boxes, and who knows how good the disassembly documentation was in the first place. Only a person that has done several early shark restorations will be able to recognize every part, assuming they are all there, and where they go. I put the probability of this car ever running again at 10 percent or less. But, no doubt the parts buzzards are circling.
Gray, huh? Actually, that's stripped natural fiberglass gray; loks like it used to be Can-Am White. Former Forum guys...I wonder if SD's wife was named Lori? Check out the seller.
Wow. Almost $4000 for a completely disassembled Vette in rough shape that just happens to have a non-original 427? What is these people smoking!! I'd offer to take it from the guy if he paid me. Other than parts, the car has absolutely no value at this point. He's actually do much better parting it out....
Now....there's actually a decent idea. A new '69 frame will run north of $3000. Plus lots of good body parts. Some interior pieces, suspension pieces, etc... All in all it might make a decent parts car.
Yep, past the "point of no return"; way too much money to bring it back without the original engine and transmission, unless its an L-88 and you are into counterfeiting engine and transmission stamps. It would be more cost effective to just part the car out, and try to recover as much of the original investment as possible. A veritable ebay cornucopia! Only trouble is, I expect the seller has like a $10K-$12K reserve. East and west; never the twain shall meet. :D
