I'm in the process of replacing my alternator on a '73 L-48. I've come across a couple issues that I have questions on. All the parts books call for the alternator clocked at the 12 o'clock position. The assembly manual shows it clocked at 9 o'clock.
I've looked in some books showing supposedly correct restorations and they show both.
Also I'm not clear on how the bracket on the wiring harness attaches to the alternator and the positioning of the wiring.
Pictures would be most helpful and thanks in advance for any help on this.
