Default [Weird Question] Conversion From Gross To Net BHP

Does anyone know an approximate conversion factor from gross to net BHP? If it matters, I'm looking at small blocks...

Just look at the specs for '71 and '72. The motors were basically unchanged. The difference is the rating method.

Thanks! This is similar to the feedback I got in C3 Tech - consensus was that .8 is a reasonable conversion factor, so my 230 net C4 is about 290 gross and my 350 net C5 is about 440 gross. I was interested because I was trying to translate newer engine outputs to folks who are used to gross measures...

Default gross vs. net hp

Any idea how the above hp figures would relate to rear wheel hp?.
