remember the quote about a fool and his money soon being parted? A "rare" drain plug but it is correct for any Corvette or Camaro made from 1957 to 1974?

On top of that, if someone went for an NCRS check, the incorrect or replacement bolt would cost him 1 or 2 points.

$220+ for an oil drain plug - that has to be one of the dumbest f-in' things i've heard of. drivin' be some more of that ncrs/bloomington BS. i've always said they should judge cars by form-fit-and function - that is, no points taken off if the part is a correct replacement, functions properly, and looks right, that is, correct finish. $220+ - this is why i cant afford a mid year...

"i see stupid people, ...they're everywhere... they walk around like everyone else... they don't even know theat they're dumb."

Judging by form, fit, and function is exactly what happens at many Corvette shows, but not at Bloomington or NCRS events. Bloomington judges cars as they would have been when they left St. Louis. NCRS cars are judged as they would have appeared ready for the first owner following dealer prep. Regardless of whether we own Bloomington or NCRS quality Corvettes, we can still admire and respect the work done by these organizations.

BUT, Bloomington or NCRS notwithstanding, I wouldn't pay $220 for a drain plug. I'd go with whatever I had and take the point deduction.

Sounds like bobz 16 (the winning bidder) has more money than brains! Is this what your drain bolt looks like? My '73 454's sure doesn't!
