71 454 starter...what is the correct casting number on the starter?

71 454 starter...what is the correct casting number on the starter?
I have one with a broken bendix that I dont need. id like to see if this is an original starter so if someone that has a 71 454 needs it I can help them out. thanks! Dave

I have 2 1971 454 Corvettes, unfortunately neither has the original starter. The casting part # is 1108400 for manual transmission cars and 1108429 for automatic trans cars.

the casting number on this one is 1108430 4G12 7
then underneath it says delco remy usa
on the other side of the casing it has 1093
so maybe this isnt an original but just a replacement.

1108430 was used for '70 thru early '75 350 automatics; yours was made on July 12, 1974.

well that sure clears up a mystery! lol
after 3 trips to the parts store for the right starter, I googled the numbers and it came back as 71 454.....was wondering why my small block needed a big block starter heheheh thanks!
