I bought a new 95 Corvette in 1995. I now have 24,000 miles on it. I have done all the scheduled maintenance as suggested in the manual. The manual does not mention ever replacing the brake fluid, clutch fluid, manual transmission fluid, power steering fluid, rear axle fluid. I intend on owning this car for many more years. Do these fluids last indefinately? I have owned other cars that recommend periodically changing some of these fluids.
You might think about flushing the brake fluid every two years.
And isn't '95 the first year for the DexCool? If so, you might think about flushing that (and maybe switching - I won't get into the religious war on that one, though) every four years. Otherwise, for the green - maybe every two years.
It can't hurt anything to change your fluids regularly. I have DEXCOOL in my three vehicles with no issues, but I agree the flame wars on that have been overdone.
Brake fluid (brakes or clutch) should be replaced at some point during the cars lifespan. Brake fluid is hydroscopic (I think that's the correct terminology) meaning it attracts water molecules, degrading it's abilities to function as intended. That's why professional techs usually don't keep opened bottles of brake fluid around for long. There's been great improvements in lubricating fluids since '95, you might try the synthetics available now by your favorite manufacturer.
