Default Intake number? L88?

My GM high rise intake on my '91 454 crate engine has 6269318 stamped just in front of the distributer. I posted here before to learn it is GM but am interested if it is a vette intake (L88?) or from a chevelle/nova/camaro. I also posted this yesterday on the C3 forum but have had no bites on this item. Can any of you check this number and let me know where and when it was used in production? I want to put the fresh air box in my L88 hood and would like to know if this is the intake that was used? As always, your help and expertise is greatly admired and appreciated!

Since they have not made L88s for a long time, it's not likely your intake is an L88 item. My NCRS Specifications Book lists P/N 3885069 and 3933198 as part numbers for L88 aluminum intake manifolds. Check the casting date of your manifold. To be an L88 item, it should not be cast later than 1969.

I found it, 6269318, over on a Camaro site: http://www.nastyz28.com/bbcmenu.html#intake

It is listed as a 1972 454 intake. Maybe some one with a parts book can check the part # for the 72 vette. My thought is that it is a Camaro/Chevelle part as the Vette used a low rise manifold.

Hi, Tom. Close but no cigar...From my 53-72 Corvette Parts Book, the 72 454 intake manifold is 6262901, but that confirms that the manifold is on some kind of 72 Chevy, maybe Camaro or Chevelle like you said.

Since it was a Camaro site that I found it on I assumed that it was for a camaro/chevelle. Did not think that it would be a Vette intake because of the clearance problems.

It is obviously a crate engine manifold as GM was not putting rectangular port heads on any cars after '71.
