Water Pump
While taking a small block out of a 55 chevy I noticed the engine had an aluminum water pump.Engine appears to be mid 60's corvette according to other #'s. The water pump has factory outlets ,a snowflake & a factory appearing part #. Did GM ever build an alum. water pump for the SBC.

GMPP has had an aluminum short water pump for many years - P/N 14011012; no aluminum short water pumps were ever used in production.

Resto
Thank you JohnZ for your reply. I was "harvesting" interesting parts from cars ready to sell. Have been racing (recently retired from that) & collecting since the 60's. I'm reducing the "bunch" now. There have been 50 or so(not all Corvettes) over time. They have all been more or less cosmetically stock with later drivetrains. I noticed you have a '67. A '67 Roadster was the only truly number matching vette of the bunch. It was a 2 owner car with both tops,427/390,4-speed/PS/PB etc. I finally sold it because someone was always hounding me. Maroon/black stinger...it did look new. I think you all call it a survivor. It had never been painted etc. One blown head gasket. I hardly ever drove it for fear of an accident etc. A fellow called one day and made me an absurd offer. I let it go but I miss it. Anyway, I admire your patience doing a resto. Thank you again for answering the WP question. Scott
