Default ? for 3x2-427

3x2-427,

You recently mentioned a Carb man on here in Chicago. Jerry??? Am I right? Can you please repost the info?

Does he just rebuild them or does he also restore them to their original appearance?

Thanks,
B-L88

Mr.L :jester
It is always a great pleasure to recommend Jerry Luck Motorsports in St.Louis area, (I am a Chicago native)
Jerry does the best work in the nation in my opinion, this based on having used most of them in the past thirty years.
When you receive your restored / rebuilt carb you can expect to bolt it on, adjust the idle and NOT TOUCH IT AGAIN for a LONG time...years.
Jerry runs each carb on a test mule before shipping, decks everything, line bores throttle shafts and does his own plating. No one touches your carb but him. The picture below my post is of my 69s tri power restored by him 6 years ago and the picture was taken about two years ago, that is four years of DRIVING those carbs, with only the occasional line leak.
The downside: Jerry is VERY busy and because he does each carb himself there is a long turn around time., plus he has had major surgery and is still on the mend. .If I can be of help E Mail me and I can "be of Assistance"

I have a set of Jerry Luck carbs and I can vouch for the quality of the workmanship. They even "feel" like new when you hold em in your hand. I have not as yet finished the project car so I have not actually used the carbs....that all comes this winter.

From what I can see well worth the wait. And I gotta say I did have to wait! My carbs got there just before the surgery. He and I talked about the surgery a little and I can see why his work could be backed up. People who do great work at reasonable prices never have to worry about earning money. He could work around the clock doing carbs and still have a backlog from what I have seen of his work. Being unable to work for a period of time only adds to the backlog but like I said WELL WORTH the Wait.

?Thanks for the recommendation. I gave Jerry a call a couple weeks ago and he is putting together a tripower for my '69 Camaro convertible (you Vette guys can't have all the fun). Plus he is local for me, which is a plus. He didn't have any air cleaners. Where is the best place to get a tripower air cleaner? How close to factory are the repos?
