71 lt1 hood stripes
What color would the hood stripes from the factory have been on a steel city gray car ? I am restoring a 71 Corvette that has 1 repaint and the stripes were white. What decided what color the stripes were ?

For the 1971 SCG you would have had a white painted stripe. White was also used with the 2 blues, red and green.
Black stripes were applied to the 2 yellows, silver, white & orange.
Black stripes were applied to the 2 yellows, silver, white & orange.

I did not like the white with the red so I put on black stripes with the red color. It is different and I have had many people say it is wrong, no kidding but others have said it is very different and like it that way. I like the black stripes. Unless you are going NCRS do it to whatever you like, mine is far from NCRS now. White is correct for your car.
