Default intake manifold date code?

I have a manifold casting number 3927184 for a 69. The date code looks to be L 4 8 is that correct? it is pretty tough to make out...
was that casting number used for 70's as well? wondering if it may be a L 4 9...thanks! Dave

A quick search on the net says that iron intake is for a 69 Corvette, and others. Most likely a 68 date is correct. After all it is a Dec. 4, 1968 date, almost 69!!! I think (or 100% sure) a L49 date would be too late for a 69 car, more for a 70 build.

The '69s were in production on 12/4/68. A casting date of 12/4/68 would be correct for '69 production. The '69s were also in production on 12/4/69 (12/19/69 was the final day). It's possible a casting date of L 4 9 could have made '69 production.
