Protect-O-Plates were credit card size metal plates containing specific vehicle information about a Corvette which were used by dealers for warranty purposes. They held codes for the engine, transmission, carburetor, differential, etc. The codes were stamped at the plant. Dealer information was later added by the dealer and the plate was attached to the last page of the owner's manual. Having the Protect-O-Plate with the car adds to documentation.
