Block came out of a 1969 Corvette assembled in March 1969
Casting number 3932388 (definitely not 3932386)
Casting date I 14 8
NO VIN Stamped on pad (Why???)
T09I9HH engine code stamp
Stamp pad has straight broach marks (no indication of decking)
Heads are definitely correct for car (Feb 3 and 5 of '69 date, correct casting number)
Any ideas on what this block might be? Any chance it is a warranty block?
3932388 is a 350 from 68-79 with a hp of 300 used in a car & Truck and is a 4-Bolt
the suffix code could be
HH 68 327 Impala 250 L-73 Power glide 4-Brl Hyd Cam
HH 69 350 Impala 300 L-48 T-H 400 4-Brl Hyd Cam
all from http://www.chevymania.com/
T is the plant code for the Tonawanda, New York engine assembly plant. Tonawanda assembled small blocks there, but not for Corvettes. All Corvette big blocks came from Tonawanda; all Corvette small blocks came from Flint, Michigan and are coded V.
09I9 for September 19th, the date the engine was assembled at Tonawanda.
HH suffix code identifies the engine, but HH is not a Corvette code.
I used to own a very rare 1965 "Tonowanda-fuelie" 1965 Corvette.
Car #9988 had a very rare "180" small block built in Tonowanda and installed in St. Louis. The car has been in multiple magazines over the years, including the NCRS Restorer magazine some 18 years ago...
Aaaaaaaaah not so fast grasshopper...

I don't doubt it. Tonawanda assembled small blocks in addition to big blocks...but all C3 small blocks came out of Flint.

The VERY small number of 8180 blocks used in Corvettes in '65 were CAST at Tonawanda, but were machined and assembled at Flint V-8, and the machine stamp on the pad had an "F" prefix, not a "T" prefix.
