Default 1969 carpet question

I am re-doing thei nterior in my 1969 convertible and wanting to know if there was any difference in the carpets kits regarding the high beam foot pad area.

Did the original interiors have the high beam metal cap exposed on some early models. Or was it always covered by the carpet/pad?

Any help appreciated as there seems to be more than one version of carpet kits out there regarding this area.

Thanks, Mark

If memory serves, the dimmer switch was covered by the carpet, possibly (depending on year) with a vinyl pad over it. The folks at Al Knoch would know. http://www.alknochinteriors.com/catalog.htm

Thought so. No pad on the '68s either.

I put ACC carpet in the last one I did and it worked much better and fit a whole lot better than Al Knoch's..Besides if you have a problem the only one that will handle it is Al. Try getting ahold of him this time of year. Good luck !

Do you have the pedal that goes under the carpet?
