Default C4 Glovebox Contents

For a '96 (LT1/Auto/Cpe) what precisely was included originally from the factory/dealer in the glovebox / portfolio case?

There was a black leatherette portfolio case.

An owner's manual book.

I think a writing pad, a writing pen and a tire gauge may have also been included.

Oh and a VHS tape(?)

What else?

thanks

There was a long thread on that very subject with lots of details and photos of all the contents on the NCRS Tech Board about 2-3 weeks ago.

Sounds great but unlike corvetteforum.com for example that's a pay site with only limited short term access and no access to photos.

Anybody else know if there are any add'l items beyond those I listed above?

Thanks

Thanks. Beyond spending $30 or $40 to gain free access to that board - was looking to see if anybody on the factory correct board here on this forum might care to confirm the contents of a 96 glovebox...

Default 96 Vette

pgtr I bought me 96 LT4 new from Kerbeck in June 1996. It has been a few years, but one thing I do remember is that my 96 did not come with a tire guage. I should be able to remember her name since she picked me up at the airport and took me to the dealership, and probable will after I enter this, 12 years ago she was involved in selling the new Corvette. Thought process is working her name was Vicky. Anyway in buying my new 96 she gave me a Corvette tire guage at the end of deal while I was waiting for my new Corvette to be moved out of the showroom to take home. She told me that Chevrolet was not putting them in the 96 Corvettes. There was not one in the tire guage holder in the glove box.
The leatherette case contained the owners manual, writing pen, note pad, warranty booklet, information on the keyless entry.

Thanks 70ZZ3_96LT4 for the reply and info! Very helpfull!

Based on your comments and a few other things I kinda sorta wonder if, since the 96 was the last of the generation, certain things started becoming 'ommitted' or conveniently phased out as supplies ran out. And energy was starting to focus on prepping for C5 production... just a thought.

For example I've seen 96s with and without the "Mobil 1" label on the hood.

thanks

The corvette penlight and pen were in the C-4's and the C-5's, but not sure of the years. Gm used the same penlight and pen in both generations but changed the printing font for the C-5's.

The 1993 LT1 center console and glove box contents were somewhat as follows:
Black leather folder, owners manual, Corvette Pen and Flashlight (Penlight), Note pad with Corvette Emblem, Locking lug nut socket, Owner Video and owner video letter, Chevrolet Satisfaction System Brochure, Corvette Roadside Assistance Information, Warranty and Owner Assistance Information,Goodyear Limited Warranty, Tire Gauge (required if equipped with UJ6 Low Pressure Tire Indicator RPO). I think that there were a couple of more items but I am not sure. Hope this helps
