1969 Alternator date codes

NEED HELP-1969 Alternator date codes

I am restoring a 1969 Corvette that was built in September 1968. I found an alternator with a date code of June 1968. For judging and sale purposes would this be considered acceptable or do I need to get closer to the original date?

thanks for the info Grant. I found a 42 amp alt, my vette is a 427 400hp with no a/c. The date on the amp is June 20, 1968

Hi Joe
After some consideration and seeing that your Sept car is a very very early built car for 69 production I think it is plausable for you to use the June 20th alt, it should be a 110833 the back of the alt case should not have a raised square. Also I think the early 69 front plastic grills are painted silver but using the original 69 version and not the 68 grills. Thanks, Grant
