It's not like GM to put in a fancy 90 deg fitting, when a plain straight fitting would serve the purpose. If midyear's are supposed to have the 90 deg, then I would bet on the sphereical head. I don't remember ever seeing any of that octagonal type. Pretty large hex on both fittings...What are those?...Chinese grease fittings. :D :D
Patrick, all my grease fittings were straight, one piece (no secondary threaded parts) zerks with small hex, maybe 1/4", just above the threads.
Are they original? Who knows, but grease fittings are not something that gets changed wholesale generally. You might change a couple in really tough locations to 45 deg or 90 deg fittings to make the job easier without a lift.
