Got a question for the 67 experts. I am having my seats refurbished with new covers from Al Knoch. The seat tracks were pretty rusty so I decided to remove them for cleaning and refinishing. They were attached to the seat frame with what looks like 1/4-20 phillips head screws. The head of the screw is unusually tall. My question is, is this the correct fastner. Seems like a 1/4-20 hex bolt would be the correct fastner. Maybe some one with a known original seat could check for me.

OK guys, I think the seats would fall over without them, so I don't think I'll sell them. Seriously, thanks for the information about the fastners. They just didn't look right to me. I know the seats had been recovered by a previous owner and thought he might have, uh, modified things a little.

I thought I would show you my handy work. Don't be jealous now!! They were pretty rusty when I started. Disassembled them, sand blasted, and painted with semi gloss black. Came out pretty good.
