Chuck, I certianly dont mean to imply that my opinion is the only one that anyone should listen to, it is just that, an opinion. I have attended the several paint seminars including the Galveston one and have in my lifetime painted more cars than I care to count and still belive that for a judged car that lacquer is the best way to go. It is fairly easy to get single stage urethane to look like lacquer, but it is still my opinion that BC/CC still has a depth of shine that is non-original in look. As long as the standard is a lacquer look then why not make it easy and use lacquer. I can't tell you how many people over the last few years have complained when they got a total point deduct for their urethane paint. They knew the rules when they had it painted! As long as the standard is a total point duduct for obvious use of urethane paint, then I would stick with lacquer. I certianly would not argue that BC/CC is a superior paint system in all regards, but if judging is your first priority, then in my opinion lacquer is the way to go.
