Default 1968 - 77 Dash Pad Substrate

I am curious about the substrate on the 68-77 dash pads. Anyone know what it is? I've always thought it was fiberglass of some type, but it might be a moldable reinforced resin.

How the panels were made? I'm guessing the substrate was press molded.

Who made them for GM?

I always thought it was some sort of injection molded plastic. The parking brake consoles and 73-77 inside rear window frame appear to be made of the same milky white plastic material. Whatever it's made out of, it seems to become very brittle with age.

A request in the C1/C2 (I hate using the "C"s) section for a responce from John Z would probably yield a more accurate answer. I'm sure that he can identify the material used.

I'm not that familiar with the details of the C3's, but most dash pads in that era used an ABS plastic substrate with urethane foam and a vinyl skin.
