Kinda Quiet ...

I'm (deep breath) beginning to ramp up for another attempt at an NCRS Performance Verification for my 1985 in May.
I'd be happy if I could get my headlight switch working (on my '74). It tends to turn off when in the on position. Tried taking it apart and cleaning it up (would you call that a rebuild?) and now the headlights don't go up and down.
Working on getting the garage organized after the move, then I'll probably try to tackle that again.

A friend of mine PV'd his 67 a couple years ago, on his way to a Duntov. It took him 4 Regionals and 2 Nationals, to get there.
On his first try, he failed for static noise from the radio when it was turned on, to much play from the left vent window handle, and a couple other little things. On the second try, he failed for a heat riser that didn't open quick enough and a passenger side door that the judge didn't like how it released from the inside. He went to the NJ Regional where he scored a 98+ in Flight Judging, and then to the Boston National where he got another 98+. At Boston the 67 National Team Leader (the same guy who failed him on the PV twice) asked him "Are you going to try for the PV again?". When my buddy replied no, he was told "You really should try again, because I think it will pass this time"!!!!!!!!!
In the end, he took it to one more Regional, where he did pass the PV, and then went to the St. Louis National and recieved his Duntov.
We were kidding with him about it at Kissimmee, this past weekend. He figures it cost him over $5,000 in show registrations, gas, tolls and hotels to get his Duntov. That doesn't include the money he spent to correct the PV failures.
In the end he was happy he did it, he ended up with a beautiful car and an award that few others ever attain.
I hope you decide to bring it down to Wildwood in May. We had a great Regional there a few years ago, and this one should be even better.
I got my '92 through the PV last fall, so my project is prepping for the McLellan judging at Nationals in July.
