Funny you should post this while I was on another thread, commenting on what a nice sig you've created (and wondering if it was for my benefit).
I was away for a couple of days but when I got back, I read the e-mail which you sent to myself along with a number of other Factory Correct regulars, addressing the situation with Chuck S. I read through the current threads and it appears I am the first to speak to this.
Jerry, I think it was very unselfish and magnanimous of you to offer to desist posting to this Forum if that's what it took to coax Chuck S. back to posting. Over the past weeks, quite a few of us have asked Chuck (in one way or another) to come back and rejoin our fellowship. I, for one, will not be doing so again. For his own reasons, whatever they may be, Chuck has chosen not to do so.
Without meaning any disrespect to Chuck as I'm fairly sure he'll read this, I don't think you should feel any responsibility for Chuck withdrawing from posting to FCR. Chuck made that decision, not you. The conflicts between you could have been handled in a more mature fashion but it's been my observation that it takes two to tango.
There are those who were willing to mediate, if asked, so a peaceful resolution could have been the result. You've amply shown your willingness to meet Chuck more than halfway. If he choses not to respond, sobeit. I don't think we as a group (or you as an individual) need to abase to Chuck.
I sincerely miss Chuck's wry humour and his contributions, but I won't beg him to come back and you shouldn't have to either.
On the other note, I think CF is plenty big for both your personalities...kinda like saying back in the old west..."this town ain't big enough for the both of us"...(absolutely no pun intended ;) ). I think if two people clash in cyberspace there are plenty of opportunities to participate in a thread w/o each other crossing paths. Everyone here on the board is plenty smart enough to decide for themselves whose opinion they want to read and those of whom to ignore.
The email was gracious, but there is plenty of room for all personalities. :yesnod:
Mac, I too sent Chuck an e-mail requesting he come back. I never heard anything. I almost wonder if he hasn't just completely written all of us off? :( Such a shame. I went through a spat with someone a few years ago when I first joined CF. It was one of those nasty name calling insult the other person's car kinda brawls. But we finally made up and are now friends. Someone has to take the first step, and Jerry has done that. It's now Chuck's turn to accept it and put the disagreement behind them. ~Juliet
Mac, if you continue sermonizing, we're going to need to get you a white clerical collar icon you can wear. Actually, I have been out of town for about a week to see my new-born grand daughter.
All right. You guys get over it. Move along, folks, there's nothing left to say here. I am here, I will post occasionally, but mostly, I am going to lurk like most CF readers and take it easy. Since I plan to make a calculated effort to avoid any technical or humorous discussion, you will for the most part, never know I am here.
Juliet, I sent you a reply. I told you what the original finishes you asked about were on my car. I also responded to your fence mending efforts, but not positively. Water under the bridge...shall we move on now? Witnessing the continuation of life at its most elementary level has a way of clarifying your priorities.
And, oh yeah Mac, you need to be real careful about "abasing". We wouldn't want a law officer to get caught doing drugs. :D

In my younger years, I briefly entertained the notion of joining the clergy but then I looked at the behavourial expectations  and decided against it.

I know there's more Forum members who 'lurk' on FCR rather than actively participate. You need only look at the post counts to prove that. Since FCR thrives on technical and humourous posts, I hope your calculated effort fails. :yesnod:

That would be 'freebasing' and nothing in life is free, if you get my meaning. :jester

Chuck, I'm honestly glad to hear you're still around. :) And Jer, I'm glad you're still around too! :)

Sorry, I just went back and double checked my mail archives, but I never received it. :( But nevertheless yes, definately move on now. :) :yesnod: ~Juliet

Can you imagine the sermons this guy would have come up with if he had joined? :D :smash:  He'd have the church goers laughing their butts off for sure!
