Let's say that a fender was ripped off the bonding strip...if the bonding strip appears intact, can a new fender be bonded to the existing strip? Do I just need to scrape off the old fiberglass mat?

Rainman69, My left rear fender was damaged in the wheelwell area and had been poorly repaired with fiberglass and alot of bondo. I chiseled it off leaving the original bonding strip. Ground the bonding strip down to its
original surface and attached a GM fender. Worked out great.
