Default Numbers on distributor

I have two distributors I would like to know what they were original equipment on. One I believe is a 59 or 60 corvette 230 HP #1110946 -Date Code 8M9. How is that date code read? The other #1111015-Date Code 363. Have no idea on the second one. :confused: Thanks Chuck

1110946 = 59/61 230 hp Vette
1111015 = used in 63/64 for sure but might be others as well. Chevelle and Chevy II but I don't think Vette.

8M9= year "8", month "M" (12th. month, no "I" used) so that's December, 9 is the day. So December 9, of the year "8"....58 most likely. Do the distributors both have tach drive? Chuck

Larry and Chuck thanks for the help. Chuck no they do not have tack drive. Wasn't the tack driven off of the generator on those years? Chuck

Yes, regarding the tach drive generators. Corvettes used the same generator as the power steering passenger cars. In those years, the PS pump was driven off the back of the generator. I'm no solid axle expert, but I do know that all midyears had the tach drive distributor. I believe all 62's did also. I know some solid axle years varied with the engine HP selection...some used generator drive, some used distributor drive. Others with more specific knowledge will hopefully chime in :) On the "other" distributor date, could the "3" be a "B" or the "6" be a "C"or "G" ? Chuck
