Default Help removing radiator support

I'm trying to remove my radiator support on my 327/350 1967 Vette but have run into a problem. On both sides of the front, bottom part of the frame there is a stack of shims that a bolt goes through to fasten the radiator support to the frame. I losened the bolt and have taken off the nut but I can't get pull the bolt down through the shims. When I try to back it out with a socket wrench the bolt just turns but doesn't come out. Have tried a number of different things without success. Anybody had a similar problem. Thanks for your help.

It sounds to me like the bolt threads are hanging up on the shims. If the bolt rotates, it should come out. Try spraying some WD-40 up in there, and take a big vise grips and clamp it on sideways, very tightly. Then take a hammer and pound the vise grips downward, it will come out. My 2 cents. :D
