I know marihuana is legal in other countries but I haven't read enough about the long term social & criminal effects of legalization to offer an informed opinion. I hate to parrot the glassy eyed activists but history has shown prohibition doesn't work. I can't see marihuana being more harmful than tobacco or liquor but I don't buy the 'it's a natural herb, such wonderful health effects' nonsense; that's just :bs
There's nothing 'natural' about today's hydroponically grown marihuana. The THC (active chemical) content is forced up to 26% on average, whereas the best weed in the 60s was 3%. There haven't been any unbiased medical research as to the long term health effects.
Organized crime profits from prohibition of a desired commodity. If there was a good reason to legalize marihuana, it would be to address organized crime.
At the end of the road, whether legal or not, I don't see myself smoking joints. I don't smoke cigarettes and rarely drink, so why would I want to start smoking marihuana?
The police cannot be everywhere....somewhere along the line, this guy will slip up and be caught. Can't blame the police agencies for this one. Chuck
