Default Door panel swap

Is it possible mount 79-82 door panels on a 77 and still be able to connect everything up and working without having to swap out internal door parts. Thanks , Bob Sorry, wrong forum. Don't read this unthinkable post. :nono:

The doors are basically the same. GM replacements fit a multitude of years, but there still would be a lot of parts that would have to be changed out. It would be easier to stay with the correct one.

Probably not, I had a '57 project car which was intact, except for the '58 door on the drivers side. Everything was identical to the '57 door on the passenger side, except the inside door ****, with the white ball, which was located an inch or two differently from the '57 door.

I had to cut out the glass reinforcement on the inside of the '58 door, and using measurements from the '57, relocated it and glassed it back in to the proper position so that the new '57 door panel fit perfectly. I needed no new internal parts. A lot of work though. :smash:
