C1 horns
After finding a pro would charge me $400 to restore MY horns, I decided to do them my self.
I bought the repair kit from Paragon and proceeded to drill my horns apart.
I found that the horns were pretty simple and were easy to rebuild. I finished the horns tonight and I am extremely pleased with the results! The horns blow loud and look just like they came off the assembly line. I went ahead and coated the entire insides of the horn with epoxy primer as the factory left all interior surfaces bare, and this is one of the reasons that the horns go bad,
they are eaten up from the insides due to corrosion!
There is nothing like the satisfaction of a job like this, and saving $350+ in the process is a real plus!
Like usual, I didn't think to take any pictures until I was done! Fear not however, as I have 2 more sets of non-working horns still sitting in a box that I will start on next week. They may prove more challenging as thay do not work now and may need new coils, but I have some donor horns that I got from a salvage yard. Paragon also indicates in the catalog that they can supply coils.
