Then I'll go back to workin' on the car. Wasn't paying attention when I reattached the ball joints to the spindles - the cotter pin holes point to the sides. IIRC when I disassembled everything they pointed front & rear. Should I fix this now or does it not matter???
The ball joint stud is free to rotate, so unless you orient them in a specific direction before you install the knuckle their orientation may be random.
The key is to torque the nuts to spec and then the additional amount to be able to insert the cotter pin.
Went back and looked at my notes from dissasembly last night. The uppers were oriented side to side & the lowers front to back. Got it back together the same way without even trying
Figured I'd ask in case it mattered, I'd fix it now while I still have the spring compressor.
