Default Enough already!

I got this e-mail from a buddy. In reading it, I get the impression this RANT was written for an American audience, then modified for Canadians. There's been a couple of posts about political correctness gone mad, so I thought I would post this for everyone's amusement.

I must confess I added a couple paragraphs myself- one regarding inappropriate education of children and one about addiction. I did not write the paragraph about RCMP uniform pride. If anyone wants to know the story behind the inappropriate education of children, let me know and I'll post it up. It involves a Supreme Court of Canada decision about books.

Mac

Enough Already!

I like big cars, big boats, big motorcycles, big houses with big yards and big campfires. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some governmental stooge with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts for squirting out babies.

I believe (insert drug of choice) addicts are not victims of society and treating them as such does them disservice and does society disservice as well. If addicts are victims of anything, they're victims of bad choices and no government agency in the world can change that.

I believe that guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason; that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts!

I know what sex is, and there are not varying degrees of it. If I received sex from one of my subordinates in my office, it wouldn't be a private matter or my personal business. I would be "FIRED" immediately and I would deserve it.

I believe that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia; it is an opinion. I believe what goes on in my bedroom is my business and no-one else's; the same thing should go for your bedroom. You don't hear me telling the world my business so why do you expect me to be interested in your's, so shut up about it.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid and smack their little butt when necessary and say "NO".

I don't believe you should be teaching children in school that homosexuality is a normal lifestyle unless you spend at least the proportionate amount of time equivalent to the percentage of heterosexual relationships versus homosexual relationships teaching them that heterosexuality is also a normal lifestyle. And I don't think any of this subject matter should be taught in elementary grades, let alone in kindergartens, any more than trigonometry would be taught at these grade levels because the children are not old enough to understand the issues or form critical and informed opinions. Presenting inappropriate material in this manner is unsubtle brainwashing and that's just wrong.

I don't believe being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United ***** College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America and see what happens. Jesse Jackson and his ilk will be knocking down your door.

I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa, so why should they be called "African-Canadians"? Africa is a continent the last time I checked. I don't go around saying I am a "European-Canadian" because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe.

Canada has two official languages- English and French. I believe that if you are selling me a milk shake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do so in either English or French! If you want to get a driver's licence, you should have to speak English or French in case of emergencies. As a matter of fact, if you want to be a Canadian citizen, you should have to speak English or French! If you want to speak other languages, I encourage you to do so, but if you're in OUR country now and, as I said before, we have two official languages.

Speaking of our country, if you want to become a citizen, that means you're leaving the old country behind. I presume you're doing so for a reason, most likely to escape persecution whether political, religious or otherwise. Canada is the best country in the world, bar none, and we made it that way. Don't arrive here and expect US to change to accommodate YOU.

My father and my grandfather should not have died in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. If you want bring all the hatred and discontent with you, do us all a favour and stay in your old country. We did not go to the aid of foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document and open to their interpretations.

I don't believe that just because you were not born in this country or have non-caucasian origins that you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. You should earn your way the same as the rest of us. That is not prejudice- that's providing an even playing field for all of us, instead of reverse discrimination for me.

I believe that if you don't think it is fair that you cannot wear your Turban or Indian Head Dress while on uniform duty as an RCMP officer, then you are not the right person for the job! Look up "uniform" in the dictionary if you don't understand. Pride in the uniform should means exactly what it says. If you're don't want to wear the uniform, then you don't want to do the job.

I believe that the police should have every right to shoot your sorry butt if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop", see the paragraph above regarding language rights.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television, and that doesn't stop you from watching them. I believe a self-righteous liberal or conservative with a personal agenda is more dangerous to the fundamental rights in our country than any anarchist.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better and put your name on the building. Ask your buddy that invented the Internet to help you.

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And please stay home until that new lip ring heals, I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me french fries!

I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off. I am sick of "Political Correctness" and of all the suck ups that go along with it. I am proud to be from CANADA and nowhere else. And if you don't like my point of view, tough!

Mac, did you know in the U.S. that February is Black History Month? The local government agency where I work is very politically correct and is proud of the diversity in our work force. Since this month is BHM, the company has arranged for a varity of events at work during February to celebrate and also educate any employees like me, who may be unaware of Africa's rich heritage and cultural history. Of course, all these events are held at our private office building auditorium and spacious lobby.

All employees are stongly encouraged to attend these events, which include an exhibition of native African dances, an African art and crafts fair, local minority high school bands, which feature music of Duke Ellington, etc. The last one is the day they have all the NAACP and local minority politicians who are the guest speakers.

Since February 1, every employee gets a daily email telling us what event is next and be sure to attend. What a lucky bunch of Anglos some of us are at work... we get to attend all these events on Company time and all at the taxpayer's expense! :yesnod:

Mac, I have felt this way for many years......now increasingly so. I'm told that I'm a dinosaur. Maybe I am. Yes, I'm resistant to change......I admit it.

For our American friends here, I listened to a freaky scenario on Coast-to-Coast-AM on Sunday night (on over 600 radio stations across North America). The subject was the drastic demographic changes going on in the U.S. (don't get me started on Canada ).

As one example, the guest "expert" speculated that, within not too many years, there would be a major political push to split California into North and South CA, followed by a drive to re-unite South California with Mexico where it rightfully belongs.

He predicted massive political upheaval in Arizona, Texas and Florida too as the growing Hispanic population flexes its political muscle.

Who knows...... but certainly there are interesting days ahead.
1. Afghanistan
2. Iraq
3. North Korea
4. Iran
5. California?

(I've gotta finish my project before too long.......at least one drive before the world blows up. :cry :lolg: )

I have seen it before and love every word of it. My favorite:

"...it does take a parent to stand up to the kid and smack their little butt when necessary and say "NO".

I believe much of what ails our world is a lack of discipline. Too many times I have seen kids aged anywhere form 4 to 14 mouth off to their parents in my store AND the parents do nothing. My mom or dad would have smakced me so hard I feel it for the next year.

When my son was about 3 or so, he went through a phase of biting. I don't know what inspired it (age & stage?) but it was very frustrating. I was standing outside, chatting with the father of one of his playmates and I mentioned this biting.

The other father said his son was doing the same thing and the discipline they were trying was to flick him in the cheek with a finger sharply enough to the boy would associate this stinging sensation with biting and would stop. They didn't believe in spanking or other physical discipline but had tried this finger flick in desperation as nothing else stopped their boy from biting. It's sounded rather 'new age' to me but I didn't say as much.

As we were standing there, my son wandered over and wrapped his arms around my leg and gave me a big hug..... and then bit me hard. My automatic reaction- I bellowed "NO!" and whacked his bottom. That was the last time he ever bit anyone and, coincidently, the last time that father and I ever talked about discipline. D-oh!!

The Supreme Court of Canada recently decided that schools in Canada cannot use religious reasons to exclude books from curriculum. The case came out of British Columbia where in 2000, an openly gay (male) kindergarten teacher wanted to use three books which explained same sex parental relationships for kids. The titles of the books were something like "One Dad, Two Dads" & "Jane's Two Moms."

There was a huge outcry by the parents and the books were dropped by the school board. The teacher protested. The school board refused to add these books to the curriculum and the teacher sued to the highest court in the land.

The ruling did not speak to the appropriateness of the material but said that the school board was in error to allow the religious guidelines to dictate choice of teaching materials. The teacher celebrated his 'victory' in the newspapers but luckily, it has become a non-issue since these wonderful books are no longer available (out of print!). :nonod:

This is a subject that interests me greatly, although not enough to do the research! Do you think "same sex marriages" have to pay the marriage penalty? I am guessing "no", because the federal govt (IRS) does not recognize this type of union, so they can enjoy company benefits, like health insurance, life insurance, and maybe even state benefits, but pay lower federal taxes than married dummies of the opposite sexes???? no fair!! :cry :cry :cry :cry MJ
