Why are you worried about it being correct. There's nothing else on your vette that originally came from the factory anyway..

You should just clean it up real nice. put some frame paint on the parts that need it, and stick the motor back in.

The frame is a little flatter than semi-gloss, and the engine compartment and hood inner panel are "eggshell" black (Krylon #1613 Semi-Flat or John Deere "Blitz Black").

If your 69 is like mine, the radiator is the "meat in the sandwich" between the fan shroud and the core support. Easiest way IMHO is to remove the bolts in the fender wells and the two big bolts under the core support, and take the radiator, core support, and the fan shroud out as a unit. Chuck

What I want to know is how the heck you got the motor out without banging the bajeezuz out of the fan shroud and radiator. Those are the first things I take out when I pull a motor. The additional few inches you gain by taking them out makes things a lot easier--especially on the nerves. Pleeze take'em out before you put your nicely painted and trimmed out motor back in.

You may be less ham handed than me, but I just wouldn't want to take the chance of messing one or the other up. It's hard to stop 500lbs of swinging cast iron even if it's moving slowly and only for a couple of inches.

I guess I just got lucky :blueangel:

the shroud is plastic and it can flex a little.. just enough for me to swing that thing out of the way :yesnod:

I thought the core support supported the front of the body...
