70 Headlight Switch
What are my options for headlight switch for my '70? It sort of intermittently died during the corvette caravan back from the NCM, and the other night going to a Corvette Annapolis meeting my tail lights were dead and dash lights totally out. :eek: I can drive my '87 now that I put on new rear rotors, which cures the no lights problem on the '70 - temporarily. ;) I see they're discontinued from GM. The catalog houses want something like $70 for these babies. Say it ain't so??? Do the local Trak Auto places carry something which will function adaquately or should I go the eBay NOS route or what? I have the original switch in there now with the original ***** which I must reuse in order to keep the NCRS judges (present company included) :D off my case. :D Thanks, ~Juliet

Hi Julie, how ya doing? I just bought a '67 headlight switch from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/restora...tocategory.cfm for $14.21, the GM list is $28.42.
I looked up a light switch for a '70 there, however it was not listed. Are any other years the same as '70? PT :cheers:

Juliet, the switch assy is very common to GM cars. Purchase a chevelle or malibu switch and swap over your vacumn top-switch part to the new assy. Be careful not to crack the bake-a-lite. Easy for someone with your knowledge. Thad

Thanks guys. Same vintage chevelle / malibu? Are they available new or do I need to start calling junkyards? Seems strange GM would discontinue the vette part and not just substitute it with the other car part and just change the number or something. :confused: ~Juliet
