Frame Repaired, not replaced!!!!
As some of you followed, my saga on what to do about my frame has run it's course and I am extremely happy to say that the frame has been repaired. A friend of mine steered me towards a gentlemen by the name of Werner Meier who recently opened a shop here in Metro Detroit. I dropped by to see if they could do some bench work and before I was through, I was setting up a time to drop my frame off for them to take a look. Well after a week their first conclusion was to splice. So after 2 weeks, Werner calls me and says frame is done, do you want me to send it to the powder coater? Powder coater, don't we need to do some fill work, and powder doesn't stick to plastic?
He replied," I got your frame over to my frame guy, (some friend of his that has built a mid year jig in his garage) and we decided that that frame was just too nice to cut so we heated and beat that thing for a week, got it back in spec measured it remeasured it against a true '65 frame, mounted a motor just to be sure. Now most folks wouldn't go through that trouble, but this guys absolutely loves mid years and did it as much to get paid as for the love of the car!!
Werner has a full restoration shop and can handle any work large or small.
