Mine has seams on top. I believe there are two of them running lengthwise. I believe it is original for my car and from the looks of it, it has rarely if ever been used let alone recovered. The '68 hardtops also do not have the chrome tips on them like the later years do.

I was just curious. There's a 68 on ebay stating that it came with a one piece vinyl top that didn't have the seams. It was purchased "over the counter." from GM at a later date. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6168

I thought all of the vinyl hardtops were available only in black but I'm not positive on this. Maybe the "over the counter ones" could come in different colors. Mine is black vinyl with a black headliner and to the best of my knowledge is a '68 (because it doesn't have the chrome tips) which I believe is original to my car. If the back glass is dated that might give me a better idea. I've never checked it out that closely. A good part of my tank sticker is illegible so I can't verify that it came with the car for sure.
