I have a 70 Convertable. I believe I have the original tank sticker wich is very hard to read. I'm wondering if anyone would know how to preserve it so that no further damage would occur. Also if there are any suggestions on how to figure out all the info on the sticker.
Some guys have had good luck by scanning or photographing it and then working the image in Photoshop to make it much more readable. One guy reported even better readability results using an infra-red camera to capture the image.
I have scanned mine as John Mentioned above. This offers a permanent, more easily readable version. As to the original, DO NOT laminate it. the laminate will discolor and degrade over time. I sandwiched mine between to pieces of glass and sealed the edges with silcone to keep it air tight. It then fit into a frame. It has been wrapped and stored since the scanned copy is available for display purposes.

Store it in a cool dark place in ACID-FREE surroundings. If you go to the craft store and brave the throngs in the rubberstamping and scrapbook section you can find a host of acid-free papers, folders and other paraphernalia. Pick out what suits your storage needs. Keep it out of direct sunlight and it'll last another 30+ years hopefully. Also be sure to check out the '70 Registry and join if you haven't already. :) ~Juliet http://corvetteforum.net/c3/1970regi...0registry.html
