Default Help identifying brake caliper

A friend brought over a single piston aluminum Corvette brake caliper to see if I could ID it for him so he could buy the correct pads for it. He is using these on a custom car and is not sure what year they are or even if they are fronts or rears. Since I'm no disc brake expert I bring the question to you all. It is a finned aluminum single piston caliper with Girlock cast on it and the number K244-041C. Also on outer finned surface is the number 4.261.444

Any help on Identifying this for year of manufacture or application would be greatly appreciated.

Does it look like this? This is a stock caliper from 1984 Vette
