C3 Suspension/Firewall Color

C3 Suspension/Firewall Color
What is the factory color for the upper/lower a-arms, spring, and firewall? My 76 has a silver/gray metallic color to it, but only on these areas. Now I know that Bubba did some work to this car about 10 years ago, but the paint looks a lot older than that. Were there some areas painted this color? I thought that all of the underhood components were supposed to be flat or semi gloss black. Any thoughts?

i know the firewall and a-arms are semi-gloss block. as for the springs..i think they were black..but also heard they were gray/silver. anyways, i painted the springs on my 69 silver, along with the a arms semi black.

springs are gray and have a sticker, depending if std or F-41 suspension on the car...gray paint can be purchased, with the correct coded stickers from any vette supplier like Zip, Ecklers, etc.

I'm no expert on your year, and don't have any reference material here in front of me, but I'd have to say that usually, the springs are "natural, as forged" with no paint. The upper and lower A frames are a glossy black, not a mirror finish, but glossier than the frame and glossier than the underhood blackout. The underhood blackout, firewall, inner fenders, etc. are a "matte" or semi gloss/semi flat black.
