My question is concerning the pop rivets used to install the battery cable clips (the additional clips behind the distributor on an air conditioned '66).
I have the correct clips, pop rivets, and the holes are already drilled. My question is; did they add washers on the inside before they expanded the rivets? Or expand the rivets without washers on the inside? Not that it matters that much, but I may as well do it correctly.
My personal '66 does not have air, so I can't use it as a model.

That's the same 3/16" pop-rivet that's used on the trim tag, cowl bonding strips, etc., and didn't use a back-up washer in any application - just the rivet is used.
