Default 3895 points = Second Flight?

I had my car NCRS judged about 2 months ago...the score sheets for all 5 sections add up to 3985. After reading the judging manual, this looks like it's enought for a Second Flight, yet I walked away from the meet with no awards at all. Can somebody explain how the scoring system works? Should I have "Flighted"?

Thanks,
Tony

According to my "quick" calculation, you scored 88.5%. That's enough for a Second Flight if I'm remembering my bracketing correctly. I think 88-93.9% is the Second Flight bracket.

Where was the car judged? Have you contacted the judging chairman? Chuck

The car was judged in MA. I already contacted the Judging Chairman & am waiting for an email reply. I can't see how those guys could have missied this though. This was my first time out...mybe I'm missing something? Does the Judging Chariman typically keep copies of the score sheets?

The bracket for 2nd flight is 85 to 94. You should have gotten a second flight. I'm the judging chairman for our chapter and we typically award the ribbons at the event and then send the judging sheets out later with the flight certificates. The tab team--and I have some really good tab folks who come to almost every meet--keeps the scores straight and keep me out of trouble. I don't keep copies of the judging sheets, but I do have a data base of all the cars our chapter has judged. I would suspect that your judging chairman has some system also. As you said you e-mailed the judging chairman, I'd bet it was an oversight. Good luck.

The score sheets are sent to the National Chairman, then they should be returned to you. If the "paperwork" was done, you should have had them by now. The sheets usually come back to the owner within a few weeks.

Can't explain it Did you stay for the awards ceremony? They usually give ribbons then...and if they have the certificates, they'll give them too. Often times, they will wait to get the certificate "professionally" printed, and will send it to you. The only thing I can say is to contact the meet chairman and their Chapter judging chairman and see "what's happening". Chuck

I stayed till the end...all I got was a Certificate of Appreciation. Everybody else got their ribbons at the event. I didn't get anything else with my score sheets in the mail...
Still haven't heard from the Judging Chairman...

Tony,
I have your summary sheet and there is a problem with your total and the summary sheet that I have. Please send your phone number to richardcapello@msn.com so I can call you.

Well, it looks like I will be getting a Second Flight! I'm psyched! Apparently there was a mistake on the summary sheets with the score from my mechanical section. I earned over 1200 points, but was put down for about 200. Opps...mistakes happen. I'm glad things are getting resolved. Thanks to all who helped!
And now to prep for the Regionals & Nationals coming to MA in 2006 & 2007!

Way to go, Tony! I thought it was odd that your name was not called at all that day.
